Educational Qualification
- Master's degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC and PwBD candidates) in the relevant subject from a recognized Indian University, or an equivalent foreign degree.
- Must have cleared NET (UGC/CSIR) or an equivalent test accredited by HPPSC (SLET/SET).
- Ph.D. holders are exempted from NET/SLET/SET requirement if their Ph.D. meets specific conditions (regular mode, two external examiners, open viva-voce, two published research papers, two conference presentations).

- पीएच.डी. धारकों को NET/SLET/SET की आवश्यकता से छूट दी गई है यदि उनकी पीएच.डी. विशिष्ट शर्तों को पूरा करती है (नियमित मोड, दो बाहरी परीक्षक, ओपन वाइवा-वोस, दो प्रकाशित शोध पत्र, दो सम्मेलन प्रस्तुतियाँ)।

2 Paper-I: Screening Test (1-hour CBT/Offline MCQ test, 100 marks, qualifying in nature)
3 Paper-II: Subject Aptitude Test (SAT) (3-hour descriptive test, 120 marks, conducted same day as Paper-I)
4 Document Verification (Original documents checked for candidates shortlisted as per category-wise zone ratio)
5 Personality Test (30 marks, held only at HPPSC office, Shimla; minimum pass marks 40% for General / 30% for Reserved)
6 Final Merit List (Based on SAT (120) + Personality Test (30) = 150 marks total)
